The denominator: patients with a diagnosis of PD.

There are no exclusions for this measure.


Key Phrases

Examples of key phrases you could document to meet the measure:

*Psychiatric symptoms defined as: psychosis (i.e., hallucinations and delusions), depression, anxiety disorder, apathy, AND Impulse Control Disorder (i.e., gambling, hypersexual activity, binge eating, increased spending)

All 5 symptoms must be recorded:

  • Patient assessed for psychosis, depression, anxiety, apathy, AND impulse control disorder

Measure Calculation Example 

Dr. Zhang sees 5 patients (A, B, C, D, and E) between January 1 and December 31 that were diagnosed with PD. This is the denominator

  • All five patients A, B, C, D, and E were assessed for psychosis.
  • Four patients A, B, D, and E were assessed for depression. C was not.
  • All five patients A, B, C, D, and E were assessed for anxiety.
  • Four patients A, B, C, and E were assessed for apathy. D was not. 
  • Four patients A, B, C, and D were assessed for impulse control disorder. E was not.

Two patients (A + B) met the numerator. Three patients failed to meet the numerator (C, D, E).

Quality of care = 2/5. Dr. Zhang's performance rate is 40% for this measure.
